Delicious Green Juice Recipes

Being healthy is not supposed to be hard. It’s our natural state.

I used to question one of my best friends; Xanthe, when she drank green juices. Why would you eat something you don’t like the taste off? Surely that is a waste of calories! It took me a while to realise that it is what you eat that makes significant changes to your body. She made me understand the importance of those vital nutrients in a super green juice that will aid digestion (weight loss), improve blood cells (increased energy), naturally boost your immune system (never ill) and increases vital nutrients (that make our hair flow and skin glow!) The benefits are endless… it doesn’t have to be a chore.

I have a few green juice recipes that are super easy to make – I recommend using a cold press juicer as it helps keep the nutrients and enzymes intact. Normal juicers expose the vegetables to heat which removes many of the essential vitamins, enzymes, proteins and minerals. Remember these juices should be added to your current diet, not used as meal replacements.

The simplest green juice recipe are the most effective. Here are some of my favourite combos…

My Morning Favourite

5 Handfuls of Spinach

3 Kale Leaves

3 Celery Stalks

½ Cucumber

1 Lemon – This fires up your digestive system which is perfect first thing.

My Morning Green Juice

Mid-Morning Kick

1 Handful of Spinach & Kale

1 Cucumber

2 Ribs of Celery

½ Lime & some Parsley

Large Cube of Ginger – to give you a yummy taste that will curve mid-morning cravings

 

After Lunch Cleanse

3 Handfuls of Spinach

1 Cucumber

(Celery – Optional)

1 Fennel Bulb – As a good source of fibre to aid digestion with a sweet liquorice taste to make you feel like you’re having a sweet after lunch treat.

 

With Dinner

1 Cucumber

3 Kale Leaves (Or Any Leafy Green)

2 Apples

1 head of broccoli

2.5cm piece of Ginger

1 handful of parsley

Ground Turmeric, for garnish (optional) – it contains a major antioxidant to help sooth joint paint, which is great after a full day of work/exercise.

Buy fresh organic veggies where possible…

Drink your greens over ice - Green Juice Recipes

and serve over ice. YUM!

 

Chuck all the ingredients into your cold press juicer, make sure you chop them up in to small piece, take your time, juice and enjoy over a glass of ice 🙂

  • Yum! These juices are so good for detox. When i overdo the carbs (which is often) filling up on these juices every day really helps eliminate bloating and ‘tummy pouches’
