If you are looking for a long-term let or seasonal rental in Les Deux Alpes, France then look no further. I have had this beautiful cosy chalet-style apartment since early days of park shaping and coaching freestyle in the summer snowpark. This year, I’m renting it for the full winter season and the summer season to someone that will treat it like their own. I can also help introduce you to to businesses in Les Deux Alpes for jobs.

Short summary of the apartment
A cosy chalet-style apartment with 2 separate bedrooms. Situated in the quiet and rustic old part of Les Deux Alpes at the south end of town. Uninterrupted panoramic views of The Muzelle mountain and the valley of Venosc below. Very peaceful and just a short 5 minute walk to the new hi-speed Le Diable chairlift, shops, restaurants and all amenities.
I have to start with the view. It really is the best in town. From the living area you look across to the top of The Muzelle, a stunning mountain that towers over the town of Les Deux Alpes. From the mezzanine and loft above, you look down 2000ft to the valley and country town of Venosc below. The view is truely exceptional. You will not want to leave the apartment especially when a storm is rolling in. You watch it all happen from the comfort of the couch!
A short timelapse video I made of the view from the balcony and garden
2 Bedrooms (one fully enclosed, one that is open as part of the mezzanine) & bunkbeds (downstairs)
The split level apartment sleeps 4/6 people in 3 separate sleeping areas: 1 bedroom (1 double bed and 1 single bed). 1 mezzanine with a double bed. 1 bunk-bed in the alcove in the entrance.
The bathroom is newly renovated with a deep bath and a shower head, modern sink and cabinet. The toilet is separate to the bathroom.
Newly renovated, the kitchen is open plan and consists of an electric 4-hob cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven, kettle, toaster and coffee machine + all appliances needed to cook a great meal at home.
Exposed to panoramic mountain views, the open plan living room has a dining table (seats 4 but extends to sit 6), extendable sofa bed for two with 2 cosy puffs that make a comfortable L-shaped couch to rest after a hard day skiing. There is also small TV and DVD player with USB to play movies.
A large south facing balcony with breathtaking views. There is a large communal garden that gets the sun all day where you can enjoy your lunch on the picnic tables. Check out the above timelaspe view for a few shots of the garden.
Although the roads are cleared of snow regularly, chains or winter tyres are recommended to access the apartment when there is snow. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the main free bus that circulates town. The apartment is accessed by an external staircase of c. 10 steps. Inside the apartment the mezzanine and bedroom is accessed by a steep staircase. The bunk-bed is downstairs in the alcove.
There is off-street parking outside the apartment. It is on a first come, first served basis. I have never struggled for a parking space but as mentioned above, if it is dumping and there is lots of snow on the road, you may want to park further up the road and walk down, depending on what type of car you have and come bad-ass you are at winter snow driving!
The south end of Les Deux Alpes is known as ‘The End of The World” as the town just drops off to the valley below, Venosc. This gives it the most magnificent views.
This is the original old part of town so many of the buildings remain their original charm of old French brick mountain farm-house. It is also where all the locals live as it is quieter then the craziness of the main traffic street but central to all the best bars and restaurants.
The new high-speed Le Diable lift was just put in and they have cut a new run all the way to the street so you can pretty much ski in to the road which the apartment is on… just a short 2minute stroll from the bottom of the run.
Getting Around Les Deux Alpes
- Nearest airport is Grenoble at 45 minute drive.
- Lyon airport is 1.5hr drive.
- Bus transfers are available form both airports.
Les Deux Alpes is a car-friendly town. Lots of free parking on the two main roads that make up the village. As mentioned above, there is off-street parking available next to the apartment. The apartment is located at the bottom of a sloped street which with fresh snow can be tricky to drive up without chains. If you are driving, make sure you have chains. Even to drive up to Les Deux Alpes, with snow on the road, the many steep bends into town can be dangerous.
Everything you will need in town is accessible by foot from the apartment:
- Grocery store – 5mins
- Restaurants – 3-5mins
- Bars – 3-5mins
- Lift ticket office – 3 mins
- Le Diable chairlift – 3mins
- Jandri telecabin – 10mins
- Bus stop – 3 mins
- Rentals (bike, ski etc.) – 3-5 mins

Editor’s note: If you are after travel insurance for your next surfing adventure, Still Stoked recommends World Nomads. Prices are really reasonable and they insure actions sports (including heliskiing!) without charging a mega premium. You can also purchase the insurance after you have left home for your trip and extend the trip online during your trip; something that is quite unique to World Nomads and really helpful if your plans change as you travel.
