Yoga for surfers
We love our yoga! Here are three short, to-the-point “yoga for surfers“, sequences you can do to help you perform at the top of your game
#1 Pre-surf yoga warm-up:
This 5-minute sequence is designed to get your blood pumping before those dawn patrol sessions. Specifically sequenced to be short enough to do even when you are frothing to get in the water, but vigorous enough to properly warm the entire body to prevent injuries. This sequence will help you feel energized when taking your first few paddles.
By the way, this yoga for surfers sequence can be used as a warm-up for just about any action sport you want to get yourself into!
#2 Post-surf deep stretch:
Stretch every surf muscle in the body in under 20 minutes with this gentle yet effective yoga sequence. This sequence is intelligently designed to hit the muscles surfers use most and is best done at the end of the day to help prepare your body for another great session in the morning. Also a great full body stretch for non-surfers and athletes of all kinds.
#3 Yoga to build surf strength:
This sequence is designed to assist with balance, stamina, core and shoulder strength. A short 10-minute practice, it should be done on a day when you’d like to surf but the conditions aren’t good or you don’t have time to make it to the beach but you still want to improve your surf strength. Please note we recommend you start with the “pre-surf warm up” video to get your body ready for the more advanced poses taught in this segment.
