For this Salt Gypsy bikini review, we see that the ladies at Salt Gypsy have gone and done it again! Producing another range of stylish, classic surf swimwear for the evolving water woman. One of the original purveyors of sustainable fashion, Salt Gypsy continues to be a leading independent brand in producing swimwear that lasts (years) and looks amazing.
This new range follows the release of their own line of Salt Gypsy Surfboards in partnership with Global Surf Industries. Unbelievably, these are the first range of surfboards to be designed specifically for women, with specific attention to refining the technical specs of each board model and creating a range for everyday female surfers like us.
The colours of the board match the new range of Salt Gypsy swimwear – ya kidding!!!!!

Ok now on to the Salt Gypsy bikini review …
Danielle Clayton, the founder and creative director of Salt Gypsy can not stop advocating for style in the line-up. Now based in Byron Bay, the owner of the coolest surf shop in town, Sea Bones, Danny has put her heart and soul into this brand – read more about her story here.
What we love about Salt Gypsy is their continued dedication to sustainability. Producing ethical and sustainable fashion is more than just using recycled textiles, it’s producing a product that lasts so you the surfer, will not have to replace it in a hurry. We had a pair of our Salt Gypsy surf leggings for over 3 years. They did our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, climbed Manchu Picchu in Peru and surfed across Indonesia, Equator, and Australia. Last years they did.

Many ladies with large boobs have to opt for a high neckline, this Luna Surf Crop is the answer to any woman looking for a flattering and secure alternative.
What we loved:
The elegance of the classic surf crop
On first sight on the SG website, I didn’t think this surf crop top would look as good as it did, or even perform for a surfer like me, with large breasts. How wrong I was… The horizontal banded shape of the top is incredibly flattering, making my boobs almost appear smaller and in proportion (helped by the black of course!). The thick shoulder straps that run perpendicular to the bandeau style crop are very slightly tapered, giving the top an elegance retro style that will look as good in the ocean as it would, paired with a high waist skirt or pants. This is a stylish, stunning, and sophisticated bikini top.
The elastic that is hidden in the rib-band of the top
There is a little bit of magic happening under the hood of this bikini top. Salt Gypsy have added a 2cm wide, flat elastic band under the bust and around the ribs. This stops the top from riding up and for ladies like me with bigger boobs, it catches on the underside of our breasts as well as being tight across the ribs. With what first appears as minimal fabric for a well-endowed breasted woman like myself, this feature secures the top in place resulting in the opportunity to have a lower cut crop top. Many ladies with large boobs have to opt for a high neckline, this Luna Surf Crop is the answer to any woman looking for a flattering and secure alternative.
The luscious, silky fabric
Salt Gypsy swimwear is made using a mix of ECONYLl® which is comprised of recycled fishing nets, plastic bottles and other post consumer waste. What will strike you at first glance is the silky sheen of the fabric and it’s luscious texture. It feels so comfortable to wear.
The reversible bottoms
Danny, Salt Gypsy’s founder has a unique eye for style and always has her finger on the pulse of trends. By offering the bottoms as a reversible piece, she expands our options to express our individual style in the line-up, be it in a matching suit or a mixed colourway. Both the Mint and the Ocean colours in the Drifter bottoms were a bit hit and we were able to switch them over to suit our playful moods.
A few additional things to note:
The reversible bottoms come up quite high
The bottoms offer a lot of coverage, check the sizing chart as you may want to go a little smaller. The medium for me, folded over a bit.
Salt Gypsy offer Afterpay
Should you not be able to wait for your next paycheque for your stunning new Salt Gypsy Surfwear, you can use AfterPay that allows you to pay in installments.
