A Saudi woman climbs the 7 summits and touches the sky
Raha Moharrak recounts her journey as the first Saudi woman to climb the seven summits of the world.
I climb simply because I believed I could… Me a Saudi girl from the desert managed to touch the sky.
She is the first women to climb the 7 Summits of The World and hopes she is not the last. Her words are so driven, so powerful, and so inspiring. What an impact her journey will have on young girls in Saudi Arabia, who only recently in July 2018, were legally allowed to drive. She has shown them that they can be anything they want to be. What a woman!
I really don’t care about being the first, as long as it inspires someone else to be second.
I’ve learnt a lot on my journey so far. The first is that we are our own worst enemy. We are our own toughest critic. We are our own lines and boundaries. We are far more powerful and great than we give ourselves credit for. I’ve learnt we really need to give ourselves the opportunity to shine.
The second lesson I take with me is that you should never be afraid of failure. It means you’ve tried something new. There’s no shame in failing. The only shame is being too afraid to take the first step.

It enraged me that people dictated my capabilities that way… that someone thinks they have the right to tell me what I can and can not do.
